Seven common-sense questions, no jargon. The slate gives you a reasoned range, never a number out of thin air: a roof cannot be priced without going up to look at it. And if it’s leaking, we don’t price: we come.

The trade,
in six lines.

    Roofing — tiles & slate

    Strip-off, breathable membrane, battens, laying. Clay, concrete, natural or fibre-cement slate. Laid to last.

  • 02

    Flat roofs

    EPDM or bitumen, drainage falls built in, outlets renewed. Watertight and checked, under ten-year warranty.

  • 03

    Zinc work & gutters

    Gutters, downpipes, flashings, valleys, chimney stacks. Zinc, folded and soldered to the roof’s measurements.

  • 04

    Roof insulation

    From inside or by sarking, depending on the structure. Less heat lost, more comfort — reduced VAT possible depending on the age of the building.

  • 05

    Leak detection & repairs

    We look for where the water comes from, not just where it comes out. Repaired cleanly, explained clearly.

  • 06

    Maintenance & moss removal

    Checks on the vulnerable points, gentle moss removal, small repairs. A roof that is looked after ages better, and for longer.

Lot 03 — The method

How it goes.

Five rungs, always the same ones. Hardly spectacular, and that is exactly the point.

  1. We talk

    On the phone or through the slate above. You explain, we listen, and we say honestly whether it’s worth a visit.

  2. We go up to look

    Real measurements, photos, condition of the structure and the zinc work. That is when the number becomes serious.

  3. Firm quote

    Line by line, as on the slate, but verified, dated, signed. What is written is honoured.

  4. The works

    Scaffolding declared, the roof never left open overnight, the site tidied every evening. The neighbours remember that too.

  5. After

    Photos at the end of the job, maintenance advice, ten-year warranty. If something shifts, we come back.
